Holiday in luxurious cottages in Podhradí nad Dyjí
A
small river, the Dyje, meanders around steep hills and through deep woods
near the border between the Czech Republic and Austria. This romantic
countryside invites you to a walk through the historical towns and villages
where you will everywhere meet the witnesses of the great past of the Czech
country. Podhradí nad Dyjí is a place where you will easily forget about the
everyday hustle and bustle.
We offer you
accommodation in luxuriously furnished cottages found just 1.5 miles from
the Czech – Austrian border. You will find nice and clean accommodation both
in our unique Triple-House with its own roofed swimming-pool
and in our separate cottage standing on a hill with a beautiful view of the
Dyje Valley.
All
cottages have two separate bedrooms, a living room/sitting area,
a fully equipped kitchen, a bathroom with WC, shower cabinet and –
of course – running cold and hot water. In addition, they are
equipped with colour TV sets with satellite receivers, irons etc.
The kitchens are equipped with double-hotplate electric cookers,
fridges, coffee machines, microwave ovens, high-speed electric
kettles and all dining and kitchenware. You can therefore cook
directly in the cottage, but the neighbourhood features also several
pubs with strikingly low prices.
If needed, the cottages can
be heated with electric heating and/or with wood stoves, which will
surely care for a pleasant atmosphere.
Our
unique Triple-House features a roofed swimming-pool,
a real highlight for our guests. The water temperature in the pool
does not drop under 23 °C in summer; the average water temperature
in summer is 28 °C. Our Tiple-House features also
swings, a small merry-go-round and a sandbox for our smaller guests,
a fire place for camp fires, two outdoor barbecue grills, two
table-tennis tables, mountain bikes, a rowing boat, a canoe, a
grass-plot and a common room where you can sit, chat and play darts,
cards and other board games together with your friends. Secured
wireless Internet access is provided as well. All these items are
already included in the accommodation prices. Two modern tennis
courts are found directly in Podhradí; their prices are rather
symbolic and tennis rackets can be borrowed on the spot.
The
immediate neighbourhood of Podhradí nad Dyjí offers a variety of
beautiful sights. You can visit the Vranov dam-lake, the old
imperial town of Znojmo or make a trip to Vienna; the Austrian
capital is only around 80 miles away from Podhradí.
Furthermore, you can see countless castle ruins, castles and
chateaus both on the Czech (Frejštejn, Cornštejn, Vranov nad Dyjí,
Bítov, Jaroměřice nad Rokytnou, Dačice, Telč or Moravský Krumlov)
and on the Austrian (Drosendorf, Riegersburg, Hardegg, Kaja,
Kollmitz) side of the border. The entire Dyje Valley offers also a
number of beautiful and well-signed cycle paths through the Dyje
Valley National Park. Mountainbikes can be borrowed for free,
information leaflets, booklets, tourist maps, as well as our "Tips
for Trips" can be found directly in our cottages.
The
nearest Austrian town, Drosendorf, features a set of heated pools,
the "Terrassenbad", an 18-hole golf course, more tennis courts, and
a professional horseracing stable. Music friends will not miss any
of the sessions in the jazz club "Drosendorfer Jazzkeller", nature
lovers can visit the Geras Nature Park.
Other favourite
destinations in Austria include Raabs an der Thaya, Zwettl, Retz
with the only functional windmill in Austria and underground
passages, the smallest Austrian town Hardegg, and of course Vienna.
But Vienna is not a city to be only talked about; it needs to be
seen!
